KS2 Carols by Candlelight Tuesday 19th December, 2.15pm

16 Dec 2023

After lunch on 19th December the children will be escorted to the church. Volunteers who have already volunteered and been notified by the school to help with the walk to and from the church need to arrive at the undercroft to the school by 1.30pm.

There will be a short safety briefing. You must attend the briefing to be able to volunteer.

Upon arrival at the church, staff will be waiting to greet and direct attendees to non-reserved seating areas.
This year the school will be filming/photographing the service and then making it available for parents/carers at the beginning of next term.

We respectfully ask parents/carers not to make recordings/take photographs of the service on any device; mobile phones will need to remain in bags. Please note, under no circumstances should any electronic devices be used during the service as handheld devices block the view of family members seated behind and parents/carers are to remain seated throughout the service.

At the end of the performance the children will be escorted back to school from where they will be dismissed or taken to after school club (if applicable).

We regret it will not be possible to dismiss the children from the church. We would anticipate that families with children in both key stages will return to school in time to collect their younger children at 3.30pm.

Please note, at the end of the Christmas Carols Service there will be a retiring collection in support of our local night-shelter, the Harrow based charity, Firm Foundation.

Please note, parents will be able to order and download the recording for a suggested minimum donation of £3 (payable via their Parent Pay account).

Be Internet Legends Day

7 Dec 2023

On Tuesday, Years 1 to 6 participated in a national internet safety assembly run by Google and Parent Zone as part of Be Internet Legends Day. They learnt about the importance of kindness and respect online… and had a great time doing it!

As part of the interactive assembly, students discussed how to respond to a variety of different scenarios on the internet.

We would love parents to join in the fun and discuss how to stay safe online with their children by playing the Interland game about internet safety or creating online kindness cards (these will be displayed around the school). These activities will also be posted on your child’s Google Classroom.

SEND Coffee Afternoon

5 Dec 2023

Friday 8th December 2023
2pm – 3:15pm

Join us for our first SEND coffee afternoon of the academic year. This is an opportunity for parents of children with SEND to meet together and build a community of support.

During this event we will share information with you about Education, Health and Care plans. What are they? How are they different from regular SEN support plans? Why might a child need an EHC plan? and What does the process involve?

If you have a child with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and you think they may need an EHC plan but are not sure if they would qualify for one, or you want to know how to go about requesting an assessment, then this session will hopefully answer all your questions.

Those wishing to attend should arrive at the school gates under the undercroft in Elmgrove Road between 1:45pm and 2pm. If you have mobility difficulties or a pram/pushchair please use the main entrance and a member of staff will escort you in the lift.

There is no need to confirm attendance, simply arrive via the undercroft from 1.45pm.

Anti-bullying Week

13 Nov 2023

We are very excited to celebrate anti-bullying week this week, beginning Monday 13th November, with a variety of activities at Saint Jérôme. We will begin our special week by wearing odd socks on Monday.

Families are not required to buy anything new, just choose two socks that do not match. For children who wear tights they can simply wear their odd socks over their tights.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to this important aspect of school life.

Planet Club

9 Nov 2023

Well done to our Planet Club children for delivering to the stationery shop, Ryman, the pens that we collected last year to be recycled.

This is the second year that the Planet Club has worked hard to make sure that no pens will end up in landfill but instead will be recycled in order to be reused. What a great and inspiring effort to help the environment and improve lives.
