At this time of year we all start to think about warmer days and planning summer holidays. As you know the school operates a very strict policy regarding exceptional leave in term time which is fully supported by our Governing Body. We are fortunate at St Jérôme to have very supportive parents/carers but the school does have a duty to remind parents of the Attendance and Punctuality Policy, which is available on request and on our website, it states:
“Where exceptional leave is taken which has not been authorised by the Headteacher, the school supports such action by the Local Authority who may impose a fixed penalty notice of £60 per child, per parent. In the event of non-payment, the fine will increase to £120 per child, per parent. Thereafter, a summons will be issued from the magistrate’s court which could result in prosecution.”
Our term dates are also available on the website but if parents are in any doubt they should contact the school office to clarify.
