Handwashing and tissues

25 Feb 2020

Mrs Marney will demonstrate to all the children, this week, how to effectively wash their hands.  Please ask your child to demonstrate what they have been taught.  Handwashing is a vital tool to fight against all viruses.

On the same note we are encouraging all our community to ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ to help stop the spread of colds and other viruses. Can we once again appeal for tissues. If you could pop an extra box of tissues into your shopping this week and hand it in to the school office we will be very grateful.

Book Fair

24 Feb 2020

We are delighted to be hosting our annual book fair after school (3:15pm to 3:45pm) from Tuesday 25th February to Friday 28th February. There will be an excellent selection of books to purchase and each purchase will raise additional funds for library books at St Jérôme School. If you would like to purchase a book to donate to the school, there will also be a selection of titles chosen by the children on a ‘wishlist’ that you can purchase and donate to the school. Access to the book fair will be from the playground using the staircase next to the Early Years outdoor learning area, directly to the second floor. (Parents with prams etc. should enter the school via the school office and use the lift).

We look forward to seeing you at our book fair and hope to raise significant funds for the school whilst having fun reading.

Phone System Upgrade

24 Feb 2020

In order to improve the manner in which the school effectively responds to phone calls and to ensure your call is directed as efficiently and quickly as possible, we will be upgrading the phone system.

We have been working closely with our telecom provider and will be introducing an Auto Attendant facility in the next few days.

All callers should continue to use our main phone number i.e. 020 3019 6363 but will then be given options to ensure your call is directed to the correct member of staff.

If you are calling to notify the school of your child’s absence, you will be asked to select option 1 and be directed to an ‘absence line’ where you will be asked to leave a message with details of your child’s name, class, reason for absence and expected date of return. Parents / carers can also
continue to email this information if preferred, although it will not be necessary to do both.

Additionally, if your child(ren) attends our after school club you will be given the option to call directly to the club after 3.30 pm only. If you have a query regarding a booking you should continue to contact the school office directly or preferably by email to [email protected]

We trust that you will find this system intuitive and easy to use.
