Our Mission Statement
We are committed to providing high-quality, creative and fun before and after school childcare where each child is valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential in a safe, caring environment.
Aims and Objectives
Our Breakfast and After School Clubs provide early morning and after school. They are a great opportunity for educational and social activities in a happy atmosphere. A place where children will be safe, well cared for and happy to attend.
We want all children to enjoy their time at our Breakfast and After School Clubs and work hard to ensure that they feel happy and secure in a very caring and stimulating environment.
Staffing
All members of staff, at Breakfast Club, have current DBS checks and at least one staff member has a current first aid certificate and food hygiene training. All staff working at the club have been carefully chosen for their commitment, enthusiasm and high ability to provide a stimulating, fun-packed, warm and caring environment. All members of staff in our Breakfast Club and our After School Club are employed directly by the school.
Before Your Child Starts at Breakfast Club and After School Clubs
Before a child is admitted to Breakfast Club or After School Club, a registration form must be signed, completed and returned to the school office. The child must be currently attending full time at Saint Jérôme Church of England Primary School from Reception - Year 6. The registration form is available from the school office.
The parent / carer must inform Breakfast Club staff of any specific dietary requirements, food preferences or allergies via the registration form.
Our Breakfast Club
A parent / carer brings their child to the extended services door accessed under the undercroft where they will be registered.
Healthy, nutritious food is served for breakfast. Breakfast Club provides a varied menu of cereal with toast and jam, milk and fresh fruit juices. Eating breakfast has shown to improve children’s problem-solving abilities, memory and concentration. Attendance at Breakfast Club also helps children to start the school day punctually and calm and ready for learning.
We offer children a variety of activities that they may wish to participate in before school. We have many board games, books, construction sets, toys for them to play with.
Our After School Club
The club operates from the end of the school day until 6.00 pm every school day at the very latest. Children can be collected any time up until 6.00 pm. On the last day of terms please check carefully as After School Club may close early on those days.
A register will be taken at the beginning of the session and parent(s) / carer(s) are required to collect their children from the extended services door under the undercroft. Children will be provided with a drink and snack during the session.
There are also lots of board games, books, construction sets, toys for children to play with, and a DVD may be available together with the opportunity to continue learning in French and English.
In the summer months the children can use the playground and there are a variety of toys and equipment for outside play.
Collecting Your Child from Our After School Club
We accept that sometimes things go wrong and parents may be delayed. However, we want our staff to be able to enjoy their evenings and therefore our After School Club closes promptly at 6:00pm. Persistent late collection will not be tolerated under any circumstances and where this occurs the provision may be withdrawn.
It is worth making a plan, in advance, of who can collect your child if you are unable to reach the school before 6:00pm. Please make sure that the school knows this person has your authority to collect your child.
