Saint Jérôme achieves LabelFrancEducation accolade

Saint Jérôme School is one of only four schools in the United Kingdom to have received the LabelFrancEducation accolade, a quality mark for French-speaking bilingual education abroad. This ensures the support of the French Government and the continuation of Saint Jérôme as an examination centre for the French Government official DELF qualifications. Every aspect of the school’s French provision continues to grow and flourish, from classroom lessons, to teaching other subjects through French, to visits and visitors and competitions. Art and PE, which are taught in French remain an outstanding aspect of the school’s provision.

News from Reception

This week, the children have continued to explore the topic, ‘Dangerous Dinosaurs’. They were particularly excited to discover a mysterious parcel that arrived on Tuesday morning. The box had interesting words on it like ‘fragile’ and ‘handle with care’, along with pictures of dinosaur skeletons. Using these clues, the children predicted the contents of the box. When they finally opened it, the children were surprised to find some fossilised dinosaur eggs. This sparked some fantastic discussions and writing about what may have hatched from these eggs millions of years ago. In addition to this dinosaur exploration, the children have enjoyed making their own dinosaurs at the creative table.

On Wednesday, the children presented themselves beautifully during our walk to church to celebrate Ash Wednesday. Some of our Reception children wrote prayers, which they read out with confidence in front of the congregation. All of the children sang beautifully and had a wonderful time participating in this special event.
