Harrow Schools’ Gymnastics Competition

19 Dec 2024

Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic first trip to a gymnastics competition at Harrow School of Gymnastics on Friday 6th December with Mme Lemoine and Miss Rafferty.

Given that some of the children had never taken part in gymnastics before, Mme Lemoine was incredibly proud and very impressed by the children’s performance and how well they represented our school.

Year 6 finished in FIRST place and also won some individual medals and judges’ special awards. We are also proud of our Year 5 team, with Hannah-Elisabeth winning an individual medal for 2nd place. We also had great results for pupils who do not participate in gymnastics outside of school.

This is a wonderful accomplishment for Saint Jérôme – when we focus on an area and work hard to improve, this demonstrates the results which can be achieved. Well done to all the  pupils, parents and staff members who have made this possible.

I wonder, what the mystery of Christmas means to you…

9 Dec 2024

As shops begin to get even busier and Christmas lights turn on, the children of Saint Jérôme have begun a period of Advent. During Godly Play and worship last week, children have started to explore the wonderful mystery of Christmas. They have begun to explore the concept of incarnation and what it means to Christians. Children have also thought about the importance of each of the weeks of Advent as they journey to Bethlehem with the prophets, the holy family, the shepherds and the magi. It has been incredible to understand the importance of waiting for our mystery. We have also enjoyed sharing what Advent looks like in different churches.
